Built back in 1810, London’s The New Inn pub, hotel and restaurant is located between the two upmarket neighbourhoods of St. John’s Wood and Primrose Hill. Renovated in 2011, The New Inn is fast becoming the area’s new favourite gastropub, offering great food in a relaxed but sophisticated setting. The typical pub style frontage – gilt signage, hanging baskets and pillared door – leads in to a cosily traditional but fresh and modern setting where you’ll immediately feel right at home. During summer, pavement seating becomes quickly packed out, groups of bistro tables gathered under the pub’s green awning the ideal spot for people watching. The relaxed menu of The New Inn is formed around locally sourced produce, offering a real British flavour well suited to the surroundings but with a lighter touch of brasserie chic to the dishes both in recipe and presentation. Bar food includes a worldwide inspired tapas menu.

Cute pub, but very odd. Tables are really small. They have too much space for drinking and shove dining in a corner. Service is confusing. Very loud! Dogs running around, usually under the table begging for your food. It was all really odd. They have live music - but it’s a small place, so it’s really loud! Decent food to be fair - just overshadowed by the atmosphere. Definitely a local boozer versus a restaurant.

not sure about the B&B part of The New Inn but avoid the restaurant. It really pains me to have to write this review but our last night in London found Kristen, Scott(14) and Kate(12) wanting some more pub food. We searched Yelp/Open Table and yes TripAdvisor. Based on Open Table reviews The New Inn had 7:30 PM open so , we decided to try it. You should really avoid this place for food. Drinks and beer are fine. Food, not so much. When we arrived at the pub it was very lively - great. looked like we caught them by surprise however. we were told by the bartender/hostess that they "...hadn't had a busy Friday night in forever..." should have been my cue to exit but we persevered. 3 of us had the fish and chips - the batter was almost a half an inch thick. sort of like an over done crusty waffle. the fish inside was moist and well cooked but the batter had some sort of cinnamon, ginger bread cookie flavor. not edible. the chips were fine - hard to mess them up. my daughter had a flatbread pizza. it was mostly tasteless - tasted like you were eating a loaf of bread. except for the balled up parts at the edges where the dough was raw and gushy. YUCK........ and to top things off, when my daughter went to the restroom, there was a drunk guy in the ladies room. Needless to say, this is a pub for drinks with friends only, eat at home or somewhere else in St John's Wood.

A good range of standard dishes, quite well done. Note Hungarian chef but no Hungarian dishes!

We visited the New Inn as part of our day out at Lords. The hosts were friendly, the food was excellent (especially the Thai Green Curry) and the Cotes de Provence Rose was excellent. The atmosphere was relaxed and I would thoroughly recommend anyone to this welcoming venue. No complaints at all; a very enjoyable experience

Lovely welcoming pub, great staff, very accommodating especially with children. Food plentiful and a great selection on a Sunday. Only gripe was the live music was a bit loud and the sticky toffee a bit on the small side. Other than that a good value meal in St Johns Wood.

I came here on a Sunday for dinner with my husband - the ambience wasn't great. It was very relaxed and would be great for a drink. We both had burgers which were huge, but were not that great. I would come back again for a drink, but maybe not for dining in the restaurant. The bottle of Rose that we ordered was excellent though!

St Johns Wood really suffers from a lack of decent places to eat so the New Inn was a really good find. Good food, easy service. Already booked to go back at the end of this month.
