The Jam Cupboard, located within the suave Rydges Kensington London, has turned the hotel restaurant on its head, becoming much more than a convenient place to dine, but a destination in its own right. The service was not unfriendly but it lacked feeling somehow. Appeared busy although venue was almost empty. I was not overwhelmed by the menu and it’s quite expensive. Quality is ok but not good enough for the price.

We booked a table at 21.00h and we were the only guests. They obviously were not amused with late guests as the waitress was constantly preparing the tables for breakfast (it’s a hotel restaurant) and our starters and main courses were served at the same time. They wanted to get us out as quick as possible, we didn’t feel welcome or appreciated at all.

The set menu advertised on open table and outside the restaurant does not exist. You are an inconvenience to the staff I have never had such an abysmal experience! We ended up leaving and popping round the corner to Scoff and Banter where we received a warm welcome and amazing food

Staff pleasant and accommodating. Food over priced for the quality of ingredients received. Both ordered steak with fries and salad, with a side order of corn on the cob. Steaks were not cooked to the requested requirement. One steak was totally inedible, due to the quality of the meat. It was full of fat in every mouthful. The chips were frozen style not what you expect for the price being paid. Basic salad just placed on top of the chips. There was no real presentation or appeal to the meal and in addition the side order of sweetcorn was also sent back as stone cold. Whilst the staff were helpful and apologetic, the overall quality of the meal was actually appalling for the prices.

Friendly service, food took a while to be served, but once we flagged to the waitress we were under time pressures to see evening show, everything went according to plan. Good choice of food, which was tasty enough.

We had an enjoyable evening before visiting the Royal Albert Hall. Waitress very chatty but not obtrusive. Food well presented and flavoursome.

Bit disappointed, food/location was fine, good service and potentially good choice as fish and chips - for foreign guests!! But somehow had expected more?! Sorry.

It was very quiet for a Friday night but the service and the food was great. Pretty good value but we used my taste card which made it an absolute bargain
